On September 4th and 5th, for the fourth year in a row RDVS was present at the Low Carbon Vehicle event held in Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire. The RDVS stand was in a prominent position next to Ford and the Automotive Council, and proved to be busier than ever before. We have made a number of major developments to our Battery Management System over the past 12 months and this was the first opportunity for us to show this latest iteration.
Also for the first time, RDVS was asked to present at one of the seminars. Mike Pantrey, one of our Chief Engineers spoke on the subject of “Chasing Nirvana & The Affordable 150 Mile EV”, discussing the backing of proven technologies to
increase the uptake of low carbon vehicles instead of focussing industry efforts on breakthrough technologies. The talk was well received and promoted lively debate afterward on a number of Mike’s key points.
For those who weren’t able to attend, LCV is described by CENEX its organisers as:
- “A low and ultra low carbon vehicle and technology exhibition showcasing the innovative R&D from the UK’s leading automotive technology companies and universities
- A low carbon vehicle ride & drive where visitors can experience driving or being driven in the latest low and ultra low carbon vehicles
- A Conference and Technical Seminar Programme run in parallel over the two days of the event covering themes in the development of technology, markets and policy influencing low and ultra low carbon vehicle Research, Development, Demonstration and Deployment
- A Business Exchange where visitors have the opportunity to book meetings and interact with UK and International Visitors”
A big thank you to all those who came to speak to us on our stand. We look forward to seeing all of you in 2014!
